Superman can time travel and stop bullets fired at point-blank range. Spiderman can stick to surfaces and crawl down walls. Wolverine can claw down his enemies with his razor-sharp claws, however, Batman is different. Underneath that suit, the Caped Crusader is just a normal man.

In a world where superheroes are born with extraordinary powers, what's Batman got hidden up his sleeves? His cool Bat-gadgets, of course. No one is denying Bruce Wayne's abilities as a bright detective and a trained fighter but he does need his hi-tech empire of powerful weapons and robust vehicles to fight Gotham's bad guys. As Matt Reeves comes with a new version of Batman starring Robert Pattinson, here are some cool gizmos that should be a part of the new movie.

Batman cannot fly or climb walls. So, what's his solution? A grappling gun with a bat-shaped magnetic hook called bat-claw to scale walls and buildings. Once fixed, a button press activates a mechanical pulley system to help Wayne quickly scale up or even pull people and objects.

The device featured in Christopher Nolan's trilogy when Scarecrow sets him on fire and later, during his confrontations with The Joker. Early versions in the comic were known as the Batpoon or harpoon gun rifles but using that Batman had to physically climb the rope.

What started as a boomerang, the Batarang went on to become Batman's most handy weapon. In this digital age, it can come with a camera attached with a controller for direction, speed, and height. Using that, Batman can target enemies with a predetermined path punched into its miniature console. Another version of a Batarang comes attached with a magnet.

Batman’s Kevlar gloves have hidden claws perfectly suited to use Batarangs. Shouldn't the new movie introduce a Batarang with both magnetic and computerized powers?

To stay ahead of all his enemies, Batman does need to know everything that's going on around him. That's where his signature "ears" come into play. Bat-Ears are designed as an antenna for a high-powered listening device to allow Batman to eavesdrop on the city from a distance. Mounted on his graphite cowl, his ears can even kill enemies.

Remember how Batman fires the spring-loaded pointed tips out of his cowl into White Knight's head in Batman and Robin #22 when the villain goes on a killing spree?

Well, why just overhear, Batman needs to see everyone too, especially the criminals hiding in basements or dark alleys. To detect his position or locate himself, Batman creates a virus and inserts the program into every cell phone in Gotham to track down The Joker.

Routed through a supercomputer in the Batcave, it also takes shape into a tool to spy on all citizens of Gotham without their knowledge. While it may be morally debatable, it certainly proves to be of great help for the superhero.

In the comics, Batman often unleashed a powerful taser with an electrocution system controlled by the index finger of his glove. The small device is perfect to send powerful shock waves through his costume and zap or blow up anyone he touches, leaving him safe in an insulated cover.

If you're a fan of 'Batman: The Brave and the Bold' cartoon, you would remember the foldable Bat-Sword used by the superhero to fight an army of robots unleashed by the Clock King. If added to the innumerous weapons Batman needs, the gadget from Dark Knight's animated world could lend a unique historical warrior feel to the movie.

A technical marvel, the Batplane first introduced in the comics is not only armed with machine guns and missiles but is also armed with stealth camouflage, the ability to float in the sky and even has an on-the-go mobile crime lab used for investigation. A crossover between a plane and a helicopter, it can easily maneuver through the maze of skyscrapers in Gotham City.

Over the years, Batman has used his Batboat to sail on water as well as go under water. In the movies, the Dark Knight hasn't essentially been seen around water a lot, but this could be a delightful addition to Reeves' project. It could even turn into a unique battle sequence, especially if he heads to The Penguin's floating Iceberg Lounge.

With a gripping sequence like that, Batman could also ask Robin to hand over the Shark Repellant Bat Spray. Just in case the sharks are suddenly hungry for lunch, you know!

Taking inspiration from the comics, Bat Computer should be introduced as one of the greatest hacking terminals on the planet. With access to satellite uplinks and criminal databases, it lends its way into every government agency record and can tap into any GPS tracking system. What's more, it can analyze clues, look for codes and test DNA too. It is basically Bat's largest source of knowledge.

A lesser-known gadget, the cloaking device from 'Batman Beyond' might turn out to an asset for Bruce Wayne. With the ability to appear invisible to the naked eye and radar, it is a must-have in the new high-tech world of Gotham City.

Apart from these special gadgets, his Batsuit should be Kevlar reinforced with a cowl made of infrared, night vision and ultraviolet vision. The movie should steal its idea from the Adam West utility belt, with countless compartments and cylinders to attach the Bat-Grapple, fold the Batarangs and include a variety of handy tools like tear gas pellets, laser torch, tranquilizer gun, explosive gel, and an afterburner. Moreover, his cape should lift like the wings of an actual bat.  With Pattinson's vampire connection, the filmmaker could also introduce a pair of Paul Pope-inspired fake vampire teeth to scare off criminals. Wouldn't that be a thing of marvel for his 'Twilight' fans? All set to begin rolling under the tentative title 'Vengeance', the movie is scheduled for a June 25, 2021 release.
